Construction Updates

It is finally happening, the future is NOW!!

We had a ground breaking ceremony on August 7th using the same shovel that was used in in the original ceremony.

The demolition started on Monday, August 1st. We salvaged all of the re-usable items from the existing building, such as lights, restroom fixtures and handicap accessories. The entire administration building was demolished by Friday evening of August 12th followed by the block wall on the North side of the office by Friday evening of August 19th.

The block wall, footings, reinforcing steel and under ground plumbing/electrical rough-in was completed on Wednesday, September 28th followed by final inspection on the 29th. The foundations and slab were poured on Friday, September 30th. The framing of the walls and columns started on Monday, October 3rd and the roof trusses were delivered on Friday, October 7th.

The bearing walls are all positioned with the roof trusses installed with the roof sheathing in place. The architectural towers were completed on Monday, October 17th. The total framing package, including the interior metal walls, is scheduled to be complete by Wednesday, October 26th.

Thanks again to all the Members and Friends of St. John’s who have, and will continue to make this dream become a reality.
